Where Can I Earn Training Units?
Wagner Leadership Institute Phoenix training units can be earned through classroom courses, conferences, seminars, ministry trips and events, writing projects, home-based study, prescribed ministry involvement, courses on the internet, and other designated learning experiences.
How do I Earn Training Units?
Credit for attendance at a class, certified conference or completion of home study can be obtained by completing the following requirements:
- Apply to Wagner Leadership Institute Phoenix and become a registered student.
- Attend classes or conferences live, via web cast, or on audio or video tapes.
- Write a self-evaluation paper showing how the class or conference applies to your personal life and ministry. Length: optional (most are 3-5 pages).
- For an optional 2 extra TUs, read 500 pages of related material of your choice and complete a Reading Report Form for each book. Often the course instructor will make suggestions about book titles or a recommended reading list will be provided. Otherwise you may select your own.
- Pay the specified tuition fee.
All of these requirements should be fulfilled 90 days after the completion of the course or conference.
How do I Appy to WLI Phoenix?
- Complete the application form. Add extra sheets of paper as necessary to very specifically describe your life training and experiences. As part of the application process, the student will be assigned to the appropriate diploma level by the Dean. Consideration will be given to age, ministry experience, previous earned degrees, publications, leadership roles, etc. Once assigned, the Dean may award up to half of the diploma requirements, in conformance with WLI advanced standing criteria. The credits that are given for advanced standing are not subject to tuition charges, so be as specific and thorough as possible on the application.
- Obtain a Memorandum of Recommendation from your pastor. If you are a senior pastor, obtain a recommendation from your apostolic or denominational covering.
- Include a non-refundable application fee of $25.00 with your application. Your application will then be evaluated and your level of advanced standing assessed.
- After the application has been reviewed, you will receive a letter of acceptance placing you into a specific diploma level. Upon receipt of the $100 admission fee your student file will be officially activated.
- You will then receive a student handbook that will give you instructions on how to register for classes and submit follow-up homework.
Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
